Chiropractic Blogging 101

Last Updated: May 31, 2019

Chiropractic blogging can be a confusing subject for most doctors I speak to.  It’s certainly not something that we learn about in school, and you don’t want to waste your time doing something the wrong way.  This article will help you to understand what a blog is and how you can use it to improve your chiropractic marketing results.

What is a Chiropractic Blog?

In general a chiropractic blog is a place where you can share your personal thoughts and opinions in an organized format.  Blogs allow you to make regular updates to your chiropractic website on the latest topics of interest, and they are a great way to grow the size and strength of your site.

Blogs also allow you to post many forms of content.  I’ve personally found that posting written content along with videos has been a powerful combination.  You can post images, videos, written text, and even voice recordings.  The more you change things up the more interesting your content will be and that means you will gain more traffic there.

What Should you Write About?

As a doctor you have a great deal of information that you can share with the public.  You can write or do videos about dozens of informational topics. You probably also have a great patient testimonial to explain to others.  To the public you are an expert in a number of areas and they value the information.

You also want to focus your blogs on something that will help your website to rank well.  For instance I’m writing this post to contribute information to my followers, but I know there are people searching for information about “chiropractic blogging” from time to time.  When someone does that Google search in the future there’s a good chance that this post will show up.  You might be someone that found this post today online and there’s a chance that we may work together someday because of it.

Try to write about things that your patients would be looking for.  Make sure to include your city in the post as well.  If you live in Chicago you’re not going to be looking for patients from Los Angeles so make sure you reference your city in your posts you do.  For example if you are talking about back pain your title might be something like “Back Pain 101 in Chicago”.

How Often Should You Blog?

How often you write in your blog is up to you, but you should look at your competitors to see what they are doing around you.  If you are posting once a week you’re probably ahead of the game, but if you can do two or three per week that’s even better.  The more high quality content you put out there the more credit Google will give you.  That means you will end up with a higher ranking website.

I hope this information has been helpful for you.  At Inception we handle blogging for our clients and some of them choose to add more to it.  We’ll make sure you get the most out of your online experience.
