The Best Chiropractic Website Design

Last Updated: June 24, 2019

If you are a chiropractor in the market for a new website there are a number of choices out there.  So which chiropractic website design is the best, and how do you know which option is right for your office?  I hope this post will help you to decipher the marketing blitz that you face.

To begin I think we need to talk briefly about the history of chiropractic website design.  The first websites that hit the market approximately ten years ago were built around patient education.  I’m a big believer in patient education, but one of the things that I learned quickly in practice was that our patients were not interested in reading articles on our website.  The interesting thing today is that there are still a number of companies trying to sell chiropractors on the idea that their website is going to educate their patients.  Your website does have a purpose, but it’s not to educate your patients.

The Focus of Chiropractic Website Design

The focus of your chiropractic website design should be on generating new patients.  Your website does need to provide education, but that’s not what people are there for in the beginning.  Potential new patients visit your site to see who you are.

  • Do you have a professional looking office?
  • Do you look like a trustworthy person?
  • Is your office close to them?
  • What are others saying about you?
  • How much experience do you have?
  • Is it easy to contact you?

Hand Coded Design or CMS?

In the beginning of website design every website was hand coded.  Well trained designer were able to write code that turned into what you see as a website.  Some designs were good and most were pretty boring, but everyone had boring websites so the public did not expect anything more.

Today you will find that most website are CMS or content management systems.  A content management system is a website structure built on a universal platform.  This means that if you use a CMS system like WordPress or Joomla the basic structure of the website is there and then great designers can build pieces and parts that you can use to plug into your website.  As time goes on the collective work that happens inside of the CMS systems has far outpaced the individual hand coding designers.  I think you’ll see in the next five to ten years that hand coding designers will be almost nonexistent.

Is Website Design all you Need to Focus on?

Most chiropractic doctors I speak to today realize that they need more than just a website.  Online marketing is a complex wheel including content marketing, social media marketing, search engine optimization, reviews and more.  For years there was a separation between all the services.  One company built your website, another company charged you for search engine optimization, the next company charged for pay per click, and finally the last company told you that you needed to pay them for social media marketing.

There are two big problems here:

  • It’s too expensive to pay 3 or 4 different companies.
  • The companies are not working together so you get poor results.
  • The solution to this mess was for someone to come along that could do everything in one package.  In order for that to happen you need a person that can build websites, is a master of social media, is an expert at pay per click, fully understands search engine optimization, and is a top chiropractic marketer.
