Stand Out with a Chiropractic Google My Business Listing

Inception Online Marketing Blog Google My Business

Last Updated: April 29, 2021

Google My Business (GMB) is the number one tool your office can utilize to improve your online presence, connect with your patients, and give potential patients a little insight into the perks of going to YOUR clinic. So if you are interested in being at the top of your area’s Google search, first focus your efforts on your Google My Business.

If you are unsure of where to start, let me help you out. Our team at Inception Online Marketing helps Chiropractors every day optimize their online listings. Here you will find a step-by-step process on how to properly set up your Chiropractic Google My Business for maximum online exposure.

4 Steps To Creating Your Google MY Business Listing

Step 1: Create Your Listing

To create your listing, go to the Google My Business website and click on ‘Manage Now’. From there, Google will guide you through the process of entering your information.

This is where you will put in your Clinic Name, Address, and Phones Number (or as we call it, NAP). For best results, be sure to do a quick search of your phone number and address and make sure it is identical on every directory it shows up and matches your Google My Business Listing.

Step 2: Verify Your Listing!

In order to verify your Google listing, a postcard will be sent to your chiropractic office that will have a 6-digit code on it. Once you receive this postcard, log in to your Google account and enter the 6-digit code. By entering this code, your chiropractic office will be “verified”, allowing your clinic to show up as an option for chiropractic care in your area.

Step 3: Complete Your Listing

Other areas that should be filled out include:

  • Business Description: Be sure to build in “Chiropractor in YOUR City” for extra optimization.
  • Office Hours: Patients appreciate knowing when your office is open for them to visit.
  • Profile Short Name: If you can secure “ChiropractorYOURCITY”, that is the best!
    • For Example: “ChiropractorGreenBay”
  • Website Link: Make sure this is in there! This will give potential patients easy access to checking out your website.
  • Attributes: Fill out as many as possible here! Attributes are qualities patients are looking for in their potential Chiropractor/Chiropractic office. These categories can be anywhere from having a wheelchair-accessible clinic to accepting walk-ins at your clinic.
  • Links: There are a few different options. I always recommend a chiropractic office to at least have an appointment link in place.

Also, Google is always adding new features that you can take advantage of to benefit your GMB listing. The two most recent updates are the Insurance and Opening Date features. The Insurance feature allows you to highlight the insurances accepted at your clinic. If your clinic accepts many insurance companies, this would be an important feature to include. As for the Opening Date feature, this can be beneficial to add especially if your clinic has been in practice for many years.

Step 4: Final Steps to A Successful Listing

All Chiropractors want to be at the top of the Google search to maximize the number of new patients visiting their office, but how does one do that? Google reviews are the place to start. Asking for reviews from patients may be tricky, but it could be helpful in the long run. Having those reviews not only shows potential patients that other patients enjoy your clinic and quality of care, but that they may also benefit from receiving chiropractic care at your clinic. As you are gaining reviews from patients, make sure that you are replying to those reviews as well. For more information on reviews, I recommend reading our article about the top tips to improve your chiropractic reviews.

Google Posting is another way to have a successful GMB listing. Patients want to see how active the clinic is and that can be shown by posting updates about your business. This can include sharing anything from new office hours to a new patient special even showcasing a special event your clinic is hosting. It is recommended to post at least 1 time per week for maximum benefit.

GMB Bonus Tip:

Pictures are important since many people use pictures to determine if they can trust you as their Chiropractor. If given the choice between going to a faceless chiropractic office or an office with smiling, friendly staff – new patients will almost always gravitate towards the happy team. So be sure to include a picture of yourself, your team, and the inside of your office.
